Alliteration

Term 2 has kicked off and Room 6 jumped straight back into work! This term we are looking at poetry and the use of language. Week One is alliteration, so we had a fun session playing with words. It was great to see the class excited to come up with their crazy lines of alliteration based on the letter that their name started with and sharing them eager.

Here is a small sample!

Big, bad Brooklin boisterously brings banter.

Aymaan ate an awesome apple.

Daring Daniel destroys desks.

Lillie's leopards leap lightly.

Hasty Hugh hurdles Hamsters.

Holly's hideous hippos hop horrendously.

Chinese Acrobats - same age as us!!!

Wow....their was a look of awe on all the faces staring up at these amazing Chinese acrobats who took time out of their training and schooling to entertain show off their skills. Zirka Circus was touring and what a fantastic way to entice us to visit!

These three girls were aged just 10, 11 and 13! They could bend in ways most of us could only imagine (if we tried really hard!)

How lucky were we to have this snippet?

The balance and focus of these children is unbelievable, not to mention their flexibility. One popular question asked afterwards was "Do you have spines?" While we might giggle at the thought, you could be forgiven for wondering the same thing!!! We had a "stack" of girls (above), a tower of girls to the left.

Thanks Zirka Circus!!
