Athletics Day

Despite a shower or two in the morning, Athletics Day turned out to be beautiful! The weather was warm, the students were excited - we were set for a great day. It didn't matter if you won, placed or not, every single Room 6 student that took part, did so with much enthusiasm and displayed great sportsmanship, cheering each other on and congratulating the winners of all ages. The highlight was the relay at the end - Room 6 won...we have decided the parent's half a lap headstart before changing batons could not be overlooked! There is little out there that will beat Ethan at full steam!!!

Buddy Art

To start the year off we have been looking at ourselves through Art. The little students wanted some 'buddy' help to do a similar project. It was great to see the older students working well with the younger ones, helping them to draw their faces. Well done Room 6!

Leadership Day

Last week our Year 8 students were lucky enough to take part in a leadership experience run by Adventure Athlete Steve Gurney. Students were able to brainstorm ideas and experiences that make good leaders, in preparation for voting for the Student Council. Steve entertained students all day with stories of his adventure racing, how he overcome hurdles and ways to change mindsets. The end of the day saw a team treasure hunt, where students were put into teams of 4 to find clues and solve puzzles. Each student had a turn at being the leader within the group.

It was an amazing day for potential leaders, and a day all students enjoyed. We were lucky to have fantastic food to keep up the energy levels and thanks to those parents who helped make this a successful experience!

Welcome to 2017

It has been an exceptionally busy start to 2017! All students have been issued with their Chromebooks, we are practicing for Athletics, enjoyed our first Technology lesson, we've set goals and discussed these with the majority of parents and are making headway with our learning.

It is a vibrant bunch in Room 6 and we are looking forward to a very busy, enjoyable year.
